I’ve never understood why there’s a stigma towards anyone older than two or three yrs. wearing diapers. Like alot of people, I was told that diapers are for infants or toddlers and that anyone older than that should not wear diapers. If that were the case, then why do we see aisles full of packages of adult diapers (usually called adult briefs or protective underwear)? That confused the hell out of me. I’m no longer embarrassed about wearing diapers or needing to wear diapers. I only wish the stigma wasn’t there. If you see babies and toddlers being advertised wearing diapers, why not show adults being advertised wearing diapers?

I’ve been wearing adult diapers for urinary incontinence since 1984; I have 25 years of experience to back your theory & opinion that 99.9% of people don’t care if you’re diapered and that it’s all in how we carry it off. Although initially embarrassed, through the support of discovering others similar to myself and perhaps with age, I’ve come to accept my need for diapers. I lost my hang-up about wearing diapers in public when I was in my 30s’. After all, it was a “normal” part of me and I just had to start acting like it. Since then, I’ve worn them to doctor appointments, shopping, movies, restaurants, nightclubs, the gym, when I’m traveling and even work. I’ve never changed myself at work but, I have everyplace else. It amazed me and was refreshing to discover that people really didn’t give a rip about the diaper.

Regarding the USA being less tolerante about adults wearing diapers than Europe or Asia or anyplace else, I have this to say. It probably appears that way sometimes because of the strong influence from the religious right wing in the United States. I’ve read a number of conservative bloggs that denounce the AB/DL community and other fetish groups and create a false bridge between these interests and being a democrat and liberal. Whatever! Let’s not forget about Republican Senator David Vitter from Louisiana.

First off the thing people think when DIAPER is mentioned is the fact that babies wear them. Babies can’t go to the toilet so a diaper is the answer. When awareness of where a diaper is applied becomes an issue. and mostly in maturing individuals, does the diaper take on new facets for the usage of the diaper. Parents like their kids potty trained as soon as possible. mostly because that’s how they experienced diapers. So by a learned behavior they also use the early out example of their parents. It is also a thinking issue as maturation takes people to different levels of how they have been taught by the adult world. All in all the way people see diaper usage is a brain thing. To me diapers are NOT a big deal. Wear them, make potty in them, or using diapers as a coping device, shouldn’t be an issue to dwell on unless there are health issues involved, or where there may be unlawfull extremes with diaper use. Diapers are not the issue. The issues are laziness, or hormonal instincts.

Being French, i will tell you that, in my country, well… People don’t care. It’s not that they don’t have an opinion about it, it’s just that they don’t want to bother themselves with that. Some may laugh gently sometimes or give you some look but mainly, it’s pity or embarrasement.

I will just give you an advice if you ever wear diaper in France : If your diaper(S) is showing, then don’t try to hide it. Let it show. Trust me (i have tested manytimes), if you’re wearing diaper and have no shame about it, they will find you courageous. Like that time when i go alone, all by myself to the beach with diapers and t-shirt (can give you an heart attack xD).

Its more diaper chose in the USA. And more easy to bay diapers. Her in Europe it don’t find many store and online store that sold diapers. bath in USA is find many goods stores.

Greetings and thank you for taking the time to restart a blog. I am writing to express my support of your effort, as I was fond of your previous blog. I

here in the UK I think the whole wearing nappies/pads and being incontinent we are more open minded we have show called embarrassing bodies about medical problems and they always have somebody on who suffers from incontinence because there always trying to get the msg out to public that it’s ok and doctors won’t laugh at that sort of thing if you need to go talk to them about it.

For this part of Europe I can tell you that, people are usually not that open minded. Incontinence, very much, is something not to talk about. In my 4 neighboring countries the climate and attitude towards the subject isn’t really that much better. Mostly because its a private thing. So, being able to compare both sides of the pond, I conclude there is not much of a difference between europe and the USA.
