My first post of my new blog. How exciting. I first would like to welcome everyone to my new blog and expect great things to come from it and hopefully helpful tidbits as well. If you are wondering who I am and about me then just go to my About Me page and you can find out a little about my background.

So, I figured I would make my first post on incontinence support groups since that is how Adrian and I first met in Florida. Incontinence support groups I thought were pretty popular until I moved to NC where I have not seen any actually. There were several in Florida at the time that were pretty informal. They were in a comfortable setting – not like an alcohol anonymous support group or anything but it was just a bunch of people that went to dinner or did things together. Of course, there was talk among everyone about the managing of incontinence and what not but people were not about to sit in a circle and discuss their problems in such an uncomfortable manner. The informal environment really lended itself to making new friends and communicating. There were probably 6 people in the incontinence support group where I met Adrian. Most of them ranged from low 20’s to early 30’s in age. There were the outliers of a few older people but it was a younger crowd which I liked personally.

Many people did actually manage their incontinence through the use of adult diapers. This surprised me when I went to my first one as I thought I was one of the only one’s who did it that way. Obviously, some people use catheters but I absolutely HATED those and will never use those things. Diapers are so much easier, secure, and more comfortable in my mind. As well as the idea of a catheter just seems so ‘raw’ to me – I don’t know. Diapers were much easier and comfortable for me so I have always used them and most people in the support group agreed. There were of course some people in the groups that would never put a diaper on but its just a preference thing.

It is honestly really easy to start a incontinence support group up. Obviously, if you were to then you should NOT expect to turn it into some ABDL/diaper convention meeting but more of a way to just meet others that suffer from the same issue and maybe manage it the same way using diapers…then, in that case you might possibly make a diaper friend. But, more importantly at least you are helping people by starting a support group where they can come and discuss their issues and who knows…it could grow bigger and attract more people which would definitely bring some of the ABDL’s, diaper users, etc out of the woodwork for you to meet. Not everyone is up for this idea but I am sure there are some people that could feed off this idea and might try to put it into effect. Just a suggestion
