So, I am determined to keep up with my blog better. Yes, I went out of town for a couple days but I did have my laptop and I could have easily posted. Adrian has been getting on me about keeping up with it and I did promise her. But, I do want to keep up with the blog personally – I guess I just got got to get better at writing on the blog and coming up with ideas. Adrian comes up with great ideas all the time (she secretly steals mine lol) to write on her blog but I seem to draw blanks.

I figured I would tell a story of something that happened on my trip just recently. So, I went to the mountains to go camping with some friends and they know I wear diapers and all that. But, let me tell you – camping in the summer time is no fun especially when it is like 85 degrees at night. I would much rather camp in the winter when you are not sweating at night. Anyways, so we went hiking and we were heading back when it was just getting dark. All of a sudden a freaking snake fell, yeh FELL, from a tree right on top of my shoe. I absolutely freaked my sh*t because everyone knows I hate snakes but for it to fall right on me basically with no warning I was caught so offguard. But, my friends did have a little fun with me saying things like “Welp, looks like a diaper change for Peter when we get back” and “Do I smell something?”. Of course, implying that I pooped in my diaper I got scared so bad. I have known these guys for forever so they don’t care about the whole diaper and incontinence thing and we just sort of have fun with it. They know not to cross certain lines but I am a very open person and jokes like that never bother me, especially between us. Overall, it was a great camping trip except for the lack of sleep…alcohol was our medication for sleep though

I would have to say by now that I am a professional messy diaper changer. I have probably changed a thousand of Adrian’s messy diapers. It is pretty second nature now. I have changed them everywhere from a comfortable bed to the backseat of a car. I figured I would give a few of my “wise” knowledge to the masses when it comes to changing a messy diaper.

First, if you are new to or just beginning to change messy diapers then I would highly suggest making a note to yourself to at first just try and either clip your nose or hold your breath at certain points during the change. The last thing your partner wants is for you to gag and throw up on them. For beginners – make it a slow process to getting use to the smell of a poopy diaper before just going all out. There is nothing wrong with trying to become accustomed to the smell – it is just part of the learning process.

Second, make sure before you begin to have everything laid out and within reach so that you can do the deed as quickly and efficiently as possible. Some people might like if you go slow but at least for the beginners, they just want to get it over quickly and get through it so they know they can do it. Until you get use to it where you are comfortable going at a slower pace without throwing up or gagging or something like that – the quicker the better until you both are use to it.

Third, make sure you are talking to the person being changed as it helps get your mind off the changing and makes both of you more comfortable, especially at first. Talking will get your mind off the mess in front of you as well as help the person being changed not feel so self-conscious. So, that is a big tip that I tell people to try.

Fourth, make sure you have larger wipes and not baby wipes. Pampers Swipers are perfect for this or adult wipes would do the job. These wipes will help clean up messes easier and quicker. I highly suggest them over baby wipes for adults.

Lastly, try to have fun with it. Making it a chore or inconvenience makes it no fun for you and no fun for the person being changed. Why make it incomfortable and not fun. It should be something you and your partner or whomever share together and not just some waste of time action.
